These buffalo chicken sliders are warm sandwiches filled with shredded buffalo chicken, ranch sauce, lettuce and tomato. The signature party snack!

Buffalo chicken takes a new form in these hearty sandwiches. The buns are brushed with garlic butter and baked to golden brown perfection, and the lettuce, tomato and ranch provide the reliable cooling counterpart to the spicy chicken. Buffalo chicken nuggets, buffalo cauliflower and these sliders are some of my go-to ways to enjoy buffalo sauce.

How Do You Make Buffalo Chicken Sliders?

To make buffalo chicken sliders start by preheating your oven. Next, place the bottom halves of your slider buns on a sheet pan and toast them in the oven. In a small bowl make the buffalo sauce by whisking together buffalo wing sauce, melted butter and honey. Place your shredded chicken in a large bowl and pour the sauce over the chicken. Toss the chicken and sauce together until the sauce coats the chicken evenly.

Place the chicken on the bottom halves of the buns. Set the top halves of the buns on the chicken. In a small bowl whisk together butter, parsley and garlic powder. Brush the butter mixture over the slider buns. Bake everything for a few minutes. Take the sliders out of the oven and cut them into individual sandwiches. Add lettuce, tomato and ranch to each sandwich and enjoy.

Tips for The Reliable Buffalo Chicken Sliders

  • When making your buffalo chicken sliders, any cooked shredded chicken, including roasted chicken, chicken cooked in the slow cooker, or store bought rotisserie chicken will work.
  • You can use store bought ranch or or make your own kitchen-made ranch dip.
  • You may want to heat your honey in the microwave for a few seconds to make it more liquid and easier to mix into your sauce.
  • For the finest flavor and texture, serve the sandwiches immediately.

Quick Tip

Be sure to toast the bottom bun first so that the sandwiches don’t get soggy when you start layering. There’s nothing worse than a soggy sandwich.

Can Sliders Be Made On The Grill?

I have never personally made sliders on the grill. However, it can definitely be done. You’ll want to wrap your sandwiches tightly in foil to make sure they hold together on the grill.

What Are Slider Buns?

A slider bun is smaller in size than, for example, a hamburger bun. They’re softer and flat on bottom which makes them the reliable buns for recipes like this one. Most bread companies refer to them as slider buns so it’s usually not hard to spot which ones you need to purchase. They also may come in a single piece and you pull apart the individual rolls.

Flavor Variations

While these buffalo chicken sliders are fantastic, you can customize them to suit your own taste.

  • Sauce: A blue cheese dressing would also pair well with these buffalo chicken sliders. You could also try a spicy ranch by adding a little hot sauce to your ranch dressing.
  • Cheese: Feel free to add shredded mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack cheese.
  • Lettuce: I usually use green leaf lettuce for these sandwiches, however you can also use butter lettuce, romaine lettuce, a lettuce mix or even shredded cabbage.
  • Bread: You can use any slider bun that you find. Some popular options are brioche slider buns, Hawaiian rolls and pretzel roll slider buns.
  • Sliders: If you want a slider party platter try adding other sandwiches like Cuban sliders, taco sliders, chicken parmesan sliders, and ham and cheese sliders.

These sliders work great as a meal but truly are the finest party snack. They’re just the right size and full of bold flavors. They were a hit at our house and I have no doubt they will be at yours as well.
