Watermelon Mojito: a weeknight method

This watermelon mojito is a blend of white rum, mint, lime, watermelon juice and club soda, all combined to make a refreshing beverage. The reliable cocktail for a warm day!
You canโt go wrong with cold drink recipes during the summer months. Some of my go-to options include a blue margarita, mango mojito, Mexican mule and this colorful and tasty watermelon mojito.

When itโs hot outside I always make sure to have plenty of drinks on hand to beat the heat. This watermelon mojito combines a classic summer fruit with plenty of mint for a fresh and flavorful offering!
Watermelon Mojito Ingredients

To make this watermelon mojito, you will need sugar, water, lime juice, mint, white rum, club soda and watermelon juice. You can also add garnishes such as fresh watermelon slices, mint sprigs and lime slices.
How Do You Make A Watermelon Mojito?
Place sugar in a bowl with hot water and stir to make a unfussy syrup. Pour the syrup into a glass and add the mint leaves. Use a muddler to crush the mint. Add ice on top of the mint mixture, then pour in watermelon juice, lime juice, rum and club soda. Stir gently to combine, then add garnishes and serve.

Tips For The Reliable Drink
- You will need to use a muddler tool to pulverize the mint leaves for the most authentic flavor. Muddlers can be purchased at kitchen supply stores or online.
- This recipe makes one watermelon mojito. You can change the number of servings in the recipe card to suit the size of your group and the ingredient amounts will scale up accordingly.
- I find it easiest to use store bought refrigerated watermelon juice. You can also puree 1 cup of watermelon chunks in a blender and use that instead. If you use watermelon puree, you may want to put it through a strainer before you proceed with the recipe.
- Use freshly squeezed lime juice for the finest flavor.
Quick Tip
For an elegant presentation, dip the rim of your glass in water, then place the rim of the glass on a plate of sugar to get a frosted look.

- Fruit: Swap out the watermelon juice for a different type of juice such as mango nectar, pomegranate juice, passion fruit nectar or cranberry juice.
- Club Soda: You can use lime flavored sparkling water instead of club soda.
- Alcohol: No white rum on hand? Try using vodka, or a flavored rum such as Malibu for a different take on this drink.
